Rice The Toast Substitute
Sunday, 06 December 2009 12:28

Often people forget that one carbohydrate can be substituted for another, here is an example of an everyday use of wheat carbohydrate replaced with rice...

Keep this in mind with many recipes. For example I will often eat a 'spaghetti' dish with rice rather than pasta.

This 'recipe' is an idea I had one morning getting ready for the gym, I was hungry and I don't eat a lot of bread, it takes an entire loaf to even get a feeling of satisfaction (unless it is a european style dark bread) so looking in the fridge I find I had a plate of rice, and some left over strawberry jam (my girlfriend buys it - I just finish it) and so an idea emerged. Jam on rice, the new toast.

Ingredients:

Boiled Rice, cold or warm
Jam, honey, or other spread

Preparation:

Put your rice on a plate, spread jam over it like you would toast or bread. Eat it. (Don't forget to have your protein too)
