How To Cook Pasta (In A Rice Cooker)
Monday, 23 November 2009 10:08

Cooking pasta is nearly as simple as cooking rice, essentially you just boil it until it is ready. Using a rice cooker to cook your pasta is easy too, as a rice cooker is essentially a timed boiling pot.

Ingredients:
Pasta

Preparation:
Put your chosen pasta into the rice cooker, add water until the water just covers the pasta. Not too much water or your pasta will turn to a goey pasta mash and the texture like this is not enjoyable to eat.
Put the rice cooker on automatic and chekc back every now and then, you can test if the pasta is ready by taking a piece out with a fork and running it under cold water for a few seconds, so as not to scold your mouth, and eat it.
If it is still crunch in the middle then it needs a bit more, if it is soft right through then take it off the heat and tip out the excess water. If you leave the pasta in the water the pasta will continue to soak up the water, again making a goey substance which is not pleasurable to eat.
