Cheese is a good source of protein, not that orange gunk that Americans put on hamburgers, but real cheese, made from milk without soy fillers (yes they do!), added fats and sugars (you're not surprised are you?). When I was in Paris with some good friends I was introduced to a massive variety of different, very tasty, cheeses
- these were invariably eaten spread, as many of the cheeses are soft, on a baguette (a long french bread roll that is quiet tough to eat).
This with coffee and cigarettes seemed to be the cornerstone breakfast of the French family that I stayed with, all were in good health and none were fat. Again as I always say - there is nothing wrong with good natural products (or those not far removed) like the French cheeses.
Ingredients: Baguette (French bread stick) White Cheese - Brie or Camembert for example but there are many flavours 150 grams Sliced Ham (1/3 lb) Cup of Coffee (optional for the authentic French style breakfast)
Preparation: Cut the baguette through the side center line down to the crust on the other side but not cutting through the crust, open the baguette.
Spread the white cheese thickly on the baguette like you would use butter, cut the ham into slices and put it on the bread, cut the tomato into slices and put it on the baguette then add your lettuce.
